Dr. Dhawan is an invasive cardiologist and partner at Cardiovascular Clinic of North Georgia, a private practice in the Northeastern Atlanta area. He completed his residency in internal medicine from University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Memphis in 2007 and cardiology fellowship from Emory University, Atlanta in 2013. During his cardiology fellowship at Emory University, Dr. Dhawan was actively involved in research and was an investigator in several clinical trials in the field of cardiovascular medicine. His work on the role of oxidative stress, coronary microvascular dysfunction and coronary artery wall shear stress in the development of atherosclerosis and vulnerable plaque is particularly noteworthy. Dr. Dhawan has authored/co-authored over 40 peer-reviewed scientific publications in leading cardiovascular journals such as Circulation, Journal of American College of Cardiology, American Journal of Cardiology and Atherosclerosis. He has served on the editorial board of several peer-reviewed journals and a fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
