Rogerio Teixeira da Silva, MD, PhD is an orthopedic surgeon with special interest in the field of sports medicine injuries. His academic carrier was developed at the Department of Orthopedics at Federal University of Sao Paulo, Brazil, where he acted as a professor of the medical school. As a part of the professional training, he made a visiting fellowship during 6 months in United States, visiting The Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, TOSH in Salt Lake City and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in 1997. During the last 20 years, he has developed projects in the field of injury prevention and treatment in sports activities (mainly knee and shoulder injuries), and was responsible for the orthopedic medical care of more than 4000 competitive athletes in those years. Dr. Teixeira da Silva is married with Adriana and has 2 boys: Guilherme (11 years old) and Lucca (10 years old), that love to play soccer and tennis.
