Rachel is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator based in the New York City. She leads a team of Registered Dietitian coaches in delivering Fruit Street’s Virtual Diabetes Prevention Program and has worked with hundreds of program participants using Fruit Street’s virtual health & wellness platform. Throughout her career she’s held positions at multiple top-ranked New York City medical centers including Montefiore Medical Center and New York Presbyterian Hospital where she gained valuable clinical experience caring for acutely ill patients. She moved on to provide outpatient nutrition counseling as a diabetes educator at Beth Israel Mt. Sinai Endocrine Center before pursuing her passion for telehealth, a setting in which she could use technology to it’s fullest potential to help clients prevent and manage chronic disease. Other areas of passion and expertise include public speaking, writing for local publications, providing nutrition bites for media outlets, and providing interactive community cooking demonstrations and nutrition classes. Rachel earned a Bachelor’s degree in Science with a concentration in Nutrition & Dietetics from Cornell University and completed her Dietetic Internship with Sodexo. In her spare time, Rachel can be found striving to take full advantage of the exciting and fast-paced NYC lifestyle while remaining balanced and centered. Her favorite ways to do this are through practicing yoga, meditation, dancing, and continuously finding ways to help others lead their healthiest, happiest lives.
