Dr. Matthew Epstein is Associate Director of the Atlantic Health Sleep Centers in Morristown and a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. He graduated magna cum laude from SUNY Albany, received his medical degree from McGill University, Montreal, Canada and performed his internal medicine residency at The Graduate Hospital in Philadelphia. Fellowship training in pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine were completed at New York University Medical Center. Dr. Epstein has been board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine, critical care medicine and sleep medicine and serves as Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School (formerly UMDNJ). He has been listed on the Consumers’ Research Council of America Guide to America’s Top Physicians, Best Doctors in America, and New Jersey Monthly Top Doctors and NJ TopDocs polls. His clinical practice has become increasingly focused on sleep and he has treated more than 15,000 patients for the full range of sleep problems and disorders. Dr. Epstein has performed and published numerous clinical research studies on sleep-disordered breathing and has presented his findings nationally and internationally. He has been a reviewer for several medical journals including Annals of Internal Medicine, European Respiratory Journal, Canadian Medical Association Journal and Sleep Medicine. He has lectured to primary care physicians, the gamut of medical specialists, and to the lay public, including high schools, universities, retirement communities, as well as corporate and industry settings.
