Barry is a highly regarded ‘hands on’ entrepreneur, advisor and physiotherapist by profession with a clinical interest in remote healthcare/telehealth, musculoskeletal and sports medicine. He is a long term thinker and primarily involved in commercialising data-driven medical & sports technologies which has the potential to impact millions of lives.
Barry is a co-founder and CEO of PhytoGP, a startup that is developing a software solution that increases patient and doctor engagement in health technology whilst streamlining clinical workflow. It has also been accepted into the 2017 MAP Velocity Program (University of Melbourne) and a graduate of the Melbourne Health Accelerator (Royal Melbourne Hospital).
He is the Digital Health Technology Advisor for the Australian Physiotherapy Association, the peak body representing the interests of over 24,000 physiotherapists in Australia.
He is a Mentor at the Founder Institute, the world’s premier startup launch program based in Silicon Valley for talented entrepreneurs and promising startups across the world.
He is also a Fellow at the Startup Leadership Program.
Barry advises for two multi-million dollar funded digital health startups; BlueJay Mobile Health, a San Francisco Bay Area based mobile health software for physical therapists and FruitStreet.com, a New York based telehealth software platform for lifestyle medicine.
Barry is a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association, Health Informatics Society of Australia and Australian Sports Technologies Network.
