Dr. Anca Pop completed her Internal Medicine Residency and Gastroenterology Fellowship at Sinai Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, followed by a Hepatology/Liver Transplant Fellowship at UT Memphis. After graduation, Dr. Pop held the position of Chief of Gastroenterology Division at James H Quillen VAMC for 5 years. At the same time, she was Clinical Assistant 2001-2003 and then Associate Professor at East Tennessee State University School of Medicine, Chairperson for the Research and Development Committee 11/2001-10/2002 and the Hepatitis C Lead Clinician at Mountain Home VAMC/VISN9 (VHA Directive 2001-009, February 27,2001). She received the Department of Veterans Affairs Performance Award- Executive Career Field Appraisal January 2005. After 2005, she entered private practice and after a short time became a shareholder/partner in Gastro One, a single specialty Gastroenterology group in Memphis TN, a clinical position that she held for eight years. Dr. Pop recently earned a Business of Medicine MBA degree through Kelley School of Business Indianapolis IN. Dr. Pop is currently a Fellow of American Gastroenterology Association and holds two national offices: American College of Gastroenterology- Women in Gastroenterology Committee and American Society of GI Endoscopy- Reimbursement Committee. In addition, she is a proud member of the mentoring program for the American College of Gastroenterology. Her professional memberships also include the American Association for Study of Liver Diseases, American Gastroenterology Association and the European Association for the Study of Liver Diseases.
